World Record 38 Foot Calzone in Niagara!

By on 0

Almost everyone has heard about the deep dish pizza, but this calzone takes it to a whole new level. Roberto’s Pizza Passion, of St. Catharines, set an incredible world record with their calzone which was a mind blowing 38 feet!

You could feel the tension in the air, as Roberto Vergalito and his team worked as one to create a masterpiece. Everyone knew their role and a single mistake could be disastrous. Watching from the sidelines though, it seemed as if the team did this on a weekly basis, everything ran so smoothly.

The base of the calzone was created with 71 pieces of dough, weighing about 2.5 pounds each. Combined with all of the oil, sauce and toppings, the weight was estimated to be between four and five hundred pounds.

The raw calzone was measured to be just over 39 feet and after it’s run through the oven, had a measurement of 38 ft 10.25 inches by 2 ft 3.75 inches. Absolutely epic!

The event was put together in an effort to support the United Way, specifically their after school program that helps under-privileged children.
